Best 2600 game?

I probably spent the most time playing Warlords, mainly because it was a 4 person game.
I also spent way too much time playing Frogs and Flies, one of my favorite 2 player games.
As for 1 player games, Yars Revenge comes to mind. A friend even had (years later even) an audio tape explaining the whole plot for the game and had a synth version of the music.
Worst game ever? E.T.?

First Atari game

Aside from the game that came with your Atari 2600 system, what was the first Atari cartrige game?

Mine was Space Invaders. ('Air Sea Battle' came with my Sears brand Atari)

Button Mashers

The other day a friend of mine gave me a belated birthday present, Namco Museum. It has 6 different games on it. One of them is Galaga.

The more I play it the more I realize it's not a game of stratagy. You actually do better if you just shoot a lot. The only things you really have to do is watch where the bug things are and watch where their missles are going.

Then it dawned on me. This is what they talk about when they call a game a "Button Masher". What are some of your all time favorite button mashers?

New Atari Games

I was on a website. I think it was atariage.com and they had books and all kinds of things for people who wanted to write thier own games. I think that's great... but the website was promoting developers who had made thier own games. They were buying up unpopular titles from 2600 users so that they could take the guts out of the cartridge and re-pack them with the new game.

I don't know. I think there's got to be some middle ground here. I suppose I'm for the invention of new atari games but do original generation cartridges have to be distroyed to make that happen?

Have you seen the portable 2600s? What do you think of them? The latest ones have a really sleek design and can even connect to one another through a link cable. Wild huh?

Atari 2600 in a joystick

A while back I saw this product that was like 8 oldskool Atari 2600 games all built into an an oldskool Atari 2600 red button joystick. You put batteries in it and it had composite video and analog audio cables to plug directly into your TV.
I think it was being sold, strangely enough, by Avon, as in the makeup people.
Another strange thing about it was that at least a couple of the games were originally PADDLE games that they modified to play with the joystick instead (I think Circus Atari was one).
Anyone have one of these and can give me their impression of it? Worth the 30 bucks or whatever they wanted for it? When I was looking at it it was always sold out.
