I probably spent the most time playing Warlords, mainly because it was a 4 person game.
I also spent way too much time playing Frogs and Flies, one of my favorite 2 player games.
As for 1 player games, Yars Revenge comes to mind. A friend even had (years later even) an audio tape explaining the whole plot for the game and had a synth version of the music.
Worst game ever? E.T.?

Re: Best 2600 game?
Tue, February 10, 2004 - 10:06 AMWarlords is friggin great! My brothers and I still play to this day when they are back from college.
Tho probably one of my old favorites was Frogs and Flies. My dad and I had a long standing competition, and we played for hours! Greatest game ever? No...but ahh, the memories.... -

Re: Best 2600 game?
Thu, February 12, 2004 - 9:55 PMHow do you still play Warlords? I've broken easily 6 sets of paddles over the years and haven't been able to find new ones in a while. -

Re: Best 2600 game?
Thu, May 6, 2004 - 7:45 AMI always liked warlords...great game. Admittedly, my favorite game was Adventure. I know, kind of a common answer. But how often do you get to kill ducks with an arrow?
I also liked "Haunted House". Your character was two eyes that roamed this darkened house looking for pieces of an urn while avoiding bats, ghosts & spiders. Spent hours with that one.
Worst game? Probably E.T. Or Raiders.

Re: Best 2600 game?
Fri, April 1, 2005 - 11:09 AMMy fav was always Adventure closely followed by Outlaw. Once I spent over three hours playing Maze Craze by myself (broken teenage hearts will do that). Centipede and Night Rider are up there as well.
Only because I never got the hang of Haunted House, I'll have to put that as one of the worst.
Anyone else remember Superman?

Tue, December 14, 2004 - 2:55 PM2600 versions in their day:
Best: Adventure, Decathalon, Q*bert, Super Challenge Baseball, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Phoenix, River Raid, Dodge 'Em
(I would put Warlords up there but each corner wasn't balanced, otherwise it'd put at #1 in my list)
Worst (man there are a lot) : Pac-man, ET, Space Shuttle, Cosmic Ark, Journey, (the never finished) Swordquest series

Re: Best 2600 game?
Mon, February 28, 2005 - 7:58 PMSeriously though, a game I play all the time on my atari emulator is Robot Tank. It's an activision game. Anyone ever play that one? It's very advanced programming considering it's for the 2600. -
-
Re: Best 2600 game?
Wed, March 2, 2005 - 7:24 AMI loved Robot Tank. Battlezone was my favorite arcade game at the time, and Robot Tank was a really fun game.
Swordquest was definitely one of the worst. I still cannot figure out what the point was. -

Re: Best 2600 game?
Sat, June 11, 2005 - 9:16 PMI don't know about the other swordquest games but swordquest earthworld came with a comic book as the instructions. All though this made for interesting reading it didn't teach me a damn thing about how to play the game.

Worst Game
Mon, April 24, 2006 - 9:24 AMI forget the actual name of it now, but it was that Olympics game. THe one where you had to mash the button as fast as possible to get your character running/jumping/whatever. It was painful on the hands!
Pacman was pretty bad too, although Ms. Pacman rocked. And the Superman game was awful.
